As the UniFi Controller has evolved, it has been our goal to make it easy for administrators to get the tools they need to make their UniFi network perform as it should. In UniFi Controller version 5.6.x, we have introduced an additional statistics dashboard- Debugging Metrics. This new view presents administrators with a collection of data that we think should make it easier to identify and fix common performance issues.
We are pleased to announce a new video series “Introduction to UniFi” is available on our YouTube channel. These videos were created by Troy Hunt, who in addition to being a Pluralsight Author, Microsoft Regional Director, internet security expert and tech blogger, is a UniFi user and enthusiast.
We recently began shipping our newest product line of UniFi access points, the UniFi AC Mesh. Our UniFi AC Mesh line includes two models: the base UniFi AC Mesh (UAP-AC-M) and the UniFi AC Mesh Pro (UAP-AC-M-PRO). These access points offer benefits consistent with the rest of the UniFi AC products, but also add some new features that can help administrators better meet their network’s needs.
Since the advent of the Internet, a number of technological improvements were necessary to facilitate the speeds that users have come to expect. From dial-up to DSL, from 802.11b to 802.11ac, to name a few- these changes have helped enrich Internet experience and accessibility. Similarly Wi-Fi brought much added convenience over wired connections but reduced speeds. To mitigate these limitations, Wi-Fi technology has evolved to increase speeds, as have wired standards (for example, from 10/100 to Gigabit Ethernet).
At a time when almost every gadget is “smart” and telecommuting is changing how we work, managing a corporate network is more difficult than ever. Fortunately, as networks increase in complexity, the range of tools available to network administrators continues to expand as well. At Ubiquiti, we are constantly working to empower our customers by making it easier to integrate our product with these technologies.
